Garway and Its Ponies

Take a ramble up to Garway Hill’s summit and enjoy stunning, 360-degree views to the Malverns and Black Mountains. You might even see grazing wild ponies while you’re up there.

The Cat’s Back

The Cat’s Back, also known as the Black Hill, straddles the England-Wales border. This is a fairly straightforward walk but the views are out of this world. Pack proper walking shoes for rocky sections.

Ramble by the Wye

Admire a few of the Wye’s twists and turns on this circular walk which features pebble beaches, 12th Century churches, and a pretty 19th Century suspended footbridge. A real breath of fresh air in beautiful surroundings.

Wye, Woods & Caves

Start your trail in pretty Symonds Yat before following the curves of the River Wye through woodland and up to the summit to discover King Arthur’s Cave, thought to have been last lived in 10,000 years ago.

Stretch those legs as you encounter picturesque views with a chance to immerse yourself in the county’s ancient history.

Stumble upon spectacular ruins, Medieval churches and ancient woodland that piece together the story behind the renowned 12th Century Dore Abbey.

Kilpeck to Abbey Dore, 11.6 miles

Explore ‘England’s most perfect Norman Church,’ with its 12th Century stone carvings, before rambling up hills for panoramic views of the Monnow and Golden Valleys.

Little Dewchurch to Kilpeck, 6.2 miles

Discover England and Wales’s turbulent border history with vast lakes, scenic hillside and a mature oak forest owned by the Duchy of Cornwall.

Peterchurch to Whitney Bridge, 10.7 miles

In surroundings famous for their archaeological finds, amble past castle ruins and Neolithic burial sites with a chance to step inside Herefordshire’s oldest pub along the way.
